Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following:
- Photos / camera images. When you scan a plant or choose an image from your gallery, the selected image is used to provide identification results.
- Approximate or precise location (optional). If you grant location permission, location context may be used to improve region-related educational guidance. You can deny or revoke this permission in device settings.
- Device and usage information. Basic technical information needed to run the App (for example, network connectivity status and purchase/subscription status).
- Purchase / subscription data. If you buy a subscription, Google Play and our subscription provider process transaction and entitlement data. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Local app data. Scan history, bookmarks, onboarding status, and premium status flags may be stored locally on your device.
We do not require you to create an account with your name or password to use core features.
3. How we use information
- To identify plants/mushrooms from photos and show educational edibility and safety-related information.
- To provide optional location-aware educational context.
- To manage free-scan limits and premium subscriptions.
- To restore purchases and verify subscription entitlements.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- To respond to support requests sent to our contact email.
4. AI processing
Plant identification uses third-party AI / cloud processing services (including Google Gemini–based models via our backend or API integration). Images you choose to scan are sent over the internet for analysis and are processed to generate educational results. Do not submit images containing sensitive personal information you do not want processed.
5. Third-party services
We use trusted third parties that may process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:
- Google Play / Google Play Billing — app distribution and in-app subscriptions.
- RevenueCat — subscription status, entitlements, and purchase analytics.
- Google AI / Gemini services — image analysis for plant identification.
- Device OS services — camera, photos, location, and network APIs provided by Android.
These providers have their own privacy policies. Payment processing is handled by Google Play; we do not store your full payment credentials.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only:
- With service providers needed to operate the App (listed above).
- If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users or the App.
7. Data retention
- Images used for a scan are processed to generate results; local history/bookmarks remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
- Subscription records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat according to their retention practices and legal requirements.
- Support emails you send to us are retained as needed to respond to your request.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your device updated and protect access to your Google account.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact [email protected] and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Your choices and rights
- You can deny camera, photos, or location permissions in Android Settings.
- You can clear local history in the App (where available) or by uninstalling the App.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
- Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data. Contact us to make a request.
11. International processing
Information may be processed on servers located outside your country (including by Google and RevenueCat). By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to countries with different data-protection laws.
12. Important educational disclaimer
Identification results are for educational purposes only. AI models can make mistakes. Never ingest any plant or mushroom based solely on this App. Always verify with qualified experts and trusted field guides. Your safety is your responsibility.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
